Tipping Points

Some vendors, such as caterers and limos, often include gratuities in the overall cost of their services.  Before you sign on the dotted line, find out whether or not the tip is included in the fee.  Whether or not gratuity is included, here are some suggested guidelines:

Officiants

You should offer a donation to the church of $50 to $100 depending on the size of your wedding. 

If your wedding is not in a church, $25 to $100 is recommended, depending on the size of your wedding. 

Ceremony Musicians

$25 to $50 to the piano player or organist. 

Hair and Make-up Artists

15-20% of their fees.

Waiters and waitresses

15% to 20% which is usually included in the contract.  Although an extra 2% or 3% shows them that you really appreciate what they have done to make your day special.

Bartenders

15% to 20% is an exceptional tip.

Limousine Drivers

15% to 20% is usually included in the contract, but if you feel they have done an outstanding job then a little extra would be nice.

DJ's (optional)

Tips for the DJ is not usually required but tip at your discretion ($20-$25 each).

Bands

$20 - $25  per member.

Photographer, Videographer, Florist, Baker

Tips are not required for these vendors.  If you feel that they have done an outstanding job, 15% to 20% is a token of gratitude but is not required. 

Door greeters/Parking Attendants

$2.00 to $3.00

Wedding Planners / Coordinators

If tip is not included in the contract, 15% to 20% is recommended.  If you feel they have done an outstanding job then a little extra would be nice.

 

 

The key is to remember that all of these people made your wedding day possible so any kind gesture would be appreciated!
